It seems like nobody should need to be told this, but sometimes, some people need to hear it: Don’t be a tool.
It seems a sad waste of a life to spend it as a cog in someone else’s machine. Are all men not born with an innate purpose? Why should anyone live and die for someone else’s purposes? For someone else’s dreams?
And yet, we see no shortage of people who seem to lack that self-respect. Particularly in politics, more than a few politicians come to mind who seem to end up as lackeys, running around like gophers trying to curry favor with more successful politicians.
History is full of sad people who allowed themselves to become tools of nations and movements. So many people who forgot to Whom their allegiance should ultimately belong. So many people spiritually flattened into the mere pavement of someone else’s highway to Hell.
People are not tools to be used. We should never seek to use others, and we should never let them use us.
I repeat it once again: Don’t be a tool.
