This is the initial version of the community rules governing participation on this site and in related places. Hopefully they’re built to last, but I may need to update them at some point.
- Please participate in a spirit of diplomacy.
- Be respectful. Tone matters more than people think.
- I will not even entertain any comments exhibiting discrimination on the basis of sex, gender, race, religion, nationality, etc. This list is not exhaustive.
- Threats of any sort will not be tolerated, including vague or indirect ones, or statements glorifying violence.
- Doxing, or posting personal information will not be tolerated.
- Abusive behavior, including spreading malicious rumors, will not be tolerated.
- Spam will be filtered and immediately deleted if the filter misses it.
- Treat people as individuals. Broad generalizations about groups are neither helpful nor welcome.
- Constructive criticism is not just welcome, it’s appreciated.
- Keep comments relevant. I’m sure your Twilight fanfic is very good, but this isn’t the place for it.
- Don’t post any material illegal in the United States of America. Or in your own jurisdiction, for that matter.
