The Diplomatic Bookshelf 2026

I had mixed results with my reading last year. I read through some of the books, but others fell by the wayside. This year, I’m planning to finish those and add a few more.

These are the books I plan to add:

Eat That Frog!

Author: Brian Tracy

This is a book largely about time management, planning, and getting things done. It seems like a great investment in myself. The initial chapters are already giving me a lot to work with.

I Respectfully Disagree

Author: Justin Jones-Fosu

This is a subject I can have a hard time with. It’s hard work to disagree with somebody, on some things, and still be respectful of them. But it’s also essential. I just finished reading through it the other day, but I won’t spoil my writeup.

夜は短し歩けよ乙女 (The Night Is Short, Walk Girl)

Author: 森見登美彦 (Tomihiko Morimi)

After having a great time last year with Adventure of the Sacred Slacker, I was eager to pick up another of Morimi’s works. I had mentioned this to a yule lad I know, who got me this for Christmas.

YOUth: The Young Person’s Guide to Starting a Nonprofit

Author: Olivia Zhang

I randomly stumbled upon a link to the publisher’s page about this one. I haven’t bought it yet, but I definitely want to know more about nonprofit work. Nonprofits don’t build themselves, after all.

With a more deliberate pace in mind for my reading, I think I have a much better chance of completing my reading list this year.
